Kelly Carter, CEO Kelly Carter is the CEO of BRPG and has more than 27 years experience as a financial retirement advisor with emphasis on estate and tax planning, life insurance, annuity programs, and retirement strategies.
Kelly has worked directly with pre-retirees and retirees, business owners, and professionals, providing them with alternative, safe solutions for their retirement needs.
Prior to BRPG, he was responsible for the formation of an estate planning team that focused on wealth transfers and tax saving strategies for high net worth clients. This team, comprised of lawyers, CPAs, tax, insurance and investment specialists, provided the necessary strategies for ensuring the protection and efficiencies of each client’s “wealth transfer” plan. Over the next several years, Kelly expanded this approach to offices in the Chicago and New York regions as he grew this segment of the business, nation-wide.
Mr. Carter has headed up the forum for hundreds of wealth preservation seminars and has spoken to thousands of retirees. The result has been the development of an extensive network of clients throughout Southern California with individualized and customized retirement plans that provide peace of mind wealth preservation solutions.
Very early in his career, Kelly was recruited to serve as an independent Registered Representative, appointed through Bear Stearns and First Allied Securities, Inc. He received his formal education at Central Missouri State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. and B.A. degree in Finance and Management.
Steven A. Conte, President Steven A. Conte is President of Beacon, and has 30 years of experience in corporate America, with emphasis in retirement financial planning, human resources, and operations, both domestic and international.
Steve has devoted the last 15 years of his professional career to working directly with pre-retirees and retirees, business owners, and professionals, providing alternative strategies for their retirement needs.
He has an accomplished background as a senior executive and corporate officer in companies ranging from Bristol-Myers, Schering-Plough, United Brands, and Newmont Mining Corporation. Steve has been responsible for the design, development and management of pension plans and 401 (k) plans, as well as employee benefit and compensation plans.
Steve brings an extensive background in financial management planning, human resources and operations to the programs he represents and understands.
Steve is a graduate of St. Ambrose University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Political Science and Economics, and won the Political Science Academic Excellence Award. He has completed over 50 professional, technical, sales and management programs. A seasoned traveler, he has worked in Europe, Russia, South and Central America, Canada and the Far East.
Greg Chick, Regional Director Greg Chick has worked in the area of asset preservation in San Diego for the last 20 years. Over that time, he has worked with several attorneys and hundreds of clients to formulate their estate planning goals and objectives. In 1996, Greg co-founded Diversified Resources, a retirement planning firm specializing in asset preservation and income distribution strategies. In 2007, Greg and his wife Diana bought out his partner and opened Alternative Solutions Insurance Services, Inc., to continue to provide alternative strategies, bringing their expertise and new concepts and technology, as well as the opportunity to give each client more personalized service. In 2011, Greg became a strategic partner with Beacon, working out of the San Diego office.
David L. McGuire, Regional Director David L. McGuire has approximately 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, including positions at Putnam Investments, GE Capital, J.P. Morgan and Santander Investment Services.
While at these firms, David recognized that as his clients’ success and the complexity of their financial needs were growing, the time they had to devote to managing their own wealth was dwindling. By joining Beacon Retirement Planning Group, David is able to offer his clients complete independence and to work directly on their behalf to provide advice and counsel on the optimal path to realizing diverse financial goals while using best-of-breed solutions.
His areas of expertise are focused around investment allocation, preservation and retirement distribution strategies as well as tax and estate planning considerations. A large part of David’s practice is working with federal and state employees helping them to understand and maximize their pension benefits and social security distribution options. David earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Fairfield University, a Juris Doctor degree from Kensington College of Law, a master’s degree from Harvard University and a Certified Financial Planning degree (CFP) from Boston University. David also holds a FINRA Series 65 as well as California Life, Accident and Health licenses.
Shawnee Burce, Chief Financial Officer / Notary Public Shawnee joined the firm in 2005 and serves as our Chief Financial Officer and Notary Public. Shawnee has expertise in providing comprehensive accounting services for corporation, partnership, nonprofit organization and sole proprietor, including payroll processing and payroll tax reports. Shawnee is a graduate of Ateneo de Naga University where she earned a B.S.B.A. degree in Accounting.
Stephanie Wallace, Client Operations Manager Stephanie joined the firm in 2014 and serves as our Client Operations Manager. She is in charge of the preparation of applications and transfer paperwork, and prides herself in making the transition process as smooth as possible for you. She is the familiar face when you walk into our office and the pleasant voice you hear when you calI. Stephanie is a graduate of California State University Fullerton where she earned a B.A. degree in English.
Lisa Vanderfin, Operations Assistant Lisa joined the firm in 2015 and serves as the Operations Assistant at our Temecula office. She is in charge of our Marketing and Client Relations. She is here to make sure that your service expectations and experience with our firm are far exceeded. Lisa is a graduate of Portland State University where she earned a B.A. degree in Speech Communication.
